Pate de Verre: Step 10 through Step 12

Pate de verre 12-steps Process:

Pate-de-verre Video | Step 1-3 | Step 4-6 | Step 7-9 | Step 10-12

Step No.: 10 - Plaster mold removal

Remove plaster mold with extreme care.

Extreme patience and care are necessary when removing the plaster to prevent damage.

When the art pieces emerge, our masters step in to carefully chip away the plaster mold. Like excavating fragile archaeological relics, one false move and you're left with broken shards.

Step No.: 11 - Refinement process

Die-cut, refine, and polish.

First comes die-cutting - smoothing the crystal down to the last micro inch. Rough polish, removal of excess support, refinement and fine surface polish with a high-speed fabric wheel.

Our artist refine and re-polish each and every detail yet again. It's a perfectionist thing.

Step No.: 12 - Final quality inspection

Quality inspection and engraving.

Once we double, triple, quintuple confirm the art is deserving of our studio's name, the artist engraves it. An etched number on the base of each piece indicates its limited edition and reminds us to never stop creating... So that when you run your finger along the signature, you know the heart and spirit that was poured into it.

After the engraving - an official LIULI artwork is born.
