LIULI Artist Loretta H. Yang

Loretta H. Yang spent 12 years in the performing arts, winning multiple Golden Horse Awards and Asia Pacific Film Festival Best Actress honors. After turning her focus to liuli art, she never ceased the discipline of performance; for her, sculpture and acting are one and the same—both are forms of emotional expression and the exploration of form arising from the inner self. Over time, this sensitivity evolved into a unique artistic language —a lyrical celebration of life.

With more than 38 years of sculptural practice, her 2026 Horse Series carries a profoundly distilled spiritual core. The horse—an animal born untamed— releases power and freedom through the endless gallop of life. It becomes a symbol of Romanticism, an embodiment of emotional intensity. Through the language of sculpture, these works convey a spirit that is unrestrained, soaring, and passionately alive.

This series, inspired by “Galloping” and “Racing with Light,” captures the meeting of motion and luminosity. Through the sculpted rhythm of liuli, the horse becomes a hymn of life—its body shaped by fire, its form refined by light, its spirit elevated by conviction. Here, speed meets serenity, strength meets beauty, and the will to move forward meets the eternal pursuit of light. Each step radiates the bloom of life itself
