The Virtuous Bamboo (A Drink Under Clear Skies) - Sake Glass, Shot Glass
In this rich and opulent Chinese wineglass art piece, the allegorical bamboo of summer is depicted in low relief against forest-like colors. The glasswork comes from the series “A Drink under Clear Skies” and takes its inspiration from the classical Chinese “Four Gentlemen” motif, in which flowers (or plant) represent a season of the year. Pictured here is the imagery of dappled sunlight through bamboo leaves in the forest, warm in yellows and soothing in greens. “The Virtuous Bamboo” invokes these sentiments while paying homage to the sacred and shared act of drinking—and to living with the many seasons. |
