The flower blossom itself—trumpet-shaped and heralding in the day—is crafted with powdered crystal and fired separately with special techniques. It is subsequently joined—by refiring—with the remaining glass sculpture. The resulting artwork captures the essence of an impermanent existence. Because, with infallible grace, the hibiscus flower demonstrates the beauty of living in the present. And through that state of mind it achieves eternity.
